Our story
The construction industry has the highest rate of suicide of any sector in the UK. Workers face unique pressures — long hours away from family, physically demanding work, a culture that historically discouraged talking about feelings, and the constant stress of deadlines and safety risks.
Ownminder was created by people who understand this world. We knew that traditional wellbeing programs — posters in the canteen, one-off workshops — were not enough. Workers needed something they could actually use, on their terms, in their own time.
That is why we built Mind Fitness: a proactive, positive framework that treats psychological health like physical fitness — something you train, measure, and improve every day.
The philosophy
Mind Fitness does not wait for a crisis. It builds psychological resilience before problems arise — just like physical fitness prevents injuries.
Every tool in Ownminder is grounded in peer-reviewed psychological research. We work with psychologists and researchers to ensure scientific rigour.
Rather than focusing on what is wrong, Mind Fitness identifies and builds on your existing psychological strengths through 10 animal archetypes.
Your Mind Fitness data belongs to you. Individual scores are never shared with employers. Ownminder is a personal tool for personal growth.
Our mission
We believe that every person who builds our roads, homes, hospitals, and schools deserves tools to protect their psychological health. Ownminder exists to make that a reality.
